Building Approval and Certification Services


The Director of Vaziri Consulting Engineer, Mr Shahrokh Vaziri, is a qualified Principal Building Certifier through Engineers Australia in 2005 and a member of the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors. Mr Vaziri is qualified to assess and approve a variety of Building classes in the ACT & NSW.

When we receive your application (along with your proposed design) we will check for any Development Approval (DA) exemptions that apply. The ACT Planning and Land Authority have an exempted list of buildings from DA, however in many cases your unapproved structure or design will still require Building Approval. We'll provide you with expert guidance to ensure your design meets all requirements from start to finish.

Development Approval (DA) Exemption Eligibility


In many cases, single dwelling housings do not require DA approval. We can evaluate each application against the rules and criteria that apply within a very short timeframe to make this determination. Usually, this is a free service.

If your design will not meet the Housing Development Code, we'll tell you. If this happens, you'll need to obtain DA Approval.

Unapproved Structures


There are many unapproved structures in the ACT. To meet insurance requirements, most of them require approval. Vaziri Consulting are able to offer the Building Assessment services and expert advice you need to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy, if your structure is compliant.

Office Hours
Please contact us to make an appointment prior to visiting our office. Generally, our normal office hours are weekdays (Monday through Friday) from 9am to 4pm, however the office may not always be attended.
Other times, including weekends, are available by appointment.
